Don Marino
General Manager of United Nissan Imperial
Don Marino started his career in automotives during the summer of 1985 in Dudley, MA. By chance of fate, his friend asked him to fill in for a salesman during a short-staffed weekend. As Don says, “I didn’t choose the car business, it chose me.” Since that day, the rest has been history. Over the years, Don has worked his way to the top, where he now serves as the General Manager for United Nissan Imperial. As General Manager, he enjoys cultivating a successful, inspired team and helping his people reach their goals – both employees and customers.
As a recent resident of Imperial Valley, Don says he loves how welcoming and friendly his community is. During his first week there, he got a flat tire while picking up lunch for his team. While parked on the side of the road, three strangers stopped and asked if he needed help. The fourth person, who he mistakenly thought was an employee of the store, stopped and changed his tire without asking! Don later learned that it was not an employee, just a friendly patron. From this experience, Don gained a new manta – to pay it forward to his community and have every customer feel truly satisfied with their experience.
